Wawelberg Hotel will be opened in St. Petersburg in the end of 2020
New hotels on Nevsky Prospect 7-9 with 78 rooms will be opened after long renovation of the famous Wawelberg Building.
One of the most unusual buildings on Nevsky Prospekt, the Wawelberg Building was compared on its completion to the Doge's Palace in Venice and the Banco di Santo Spirito in Rome, although the dark, rough granite used to face the building gives it an earlier medieval appearance.

Russia Opens Skies over St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport
Russian aviation authorities announced that Open Skies regime at will be introduced at Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg for five years on January 1, 2020. According to Russia’s Ministry of Transport, this initiative will complement the activities of the airport with new routes and expand the geography of flights.

New meta-brand of St. Petersburg was presented by St. Petersburg City Tourist Information Bureau has presented this week. New logo is represented by blue circle that symbolizes Northern Sun and White nights and word «Saint Petersburg» reflecting images of St, Petersburg drawbridges.
Russia's Alexander Palace, the last home of Emperor Nicholas II will reopen to the public next summer
Russia's Alexander Palace, the last home of Emperor Nicholas II before he and his family were executed by the Bolsheviks, will reopen to the public next summer after million-dollar renovations, officials said Friday. The palace, considered one of the best works of the Italian architect Giacomo Quarenghi, was built in the late 18th century for the future Emperor Alexander I and became the permanent residence of the last Russian tsar in 1905.

The IAA World Congress, a world-renowned gathering of leaders in the marketing communications industry, is a forum of authoritative opinion, stimulation, motivation, and exchange of ideas with industry leaders of global standing. It is expected that over 1500 delegates from marketing, advertising, media sectors from across the globe would participate in this premier event in St Petersburg.
Saint Petersburg Travel Hub Forum will become annual event
Head of Saint Petersburg Convention Bureau announced that Saint Petersburg Travel Hub Forum will become annual event and take place in St. Petersburg every September. On September 11 and 12, 2019, the second travel forum St. Petersburg Travel Hub was held on the site of UNWTO 23rd General Assembly. The forum became a meeting place for tourism community leaders and brought together participants from 57 regions of Russia.
St. Petersburg Festival of Lights 2019 will take place 02 - 03 November
Annual festival under a label «Wonder of Light» will be held in St. Petersburg. Within two days, on the 2nd and 3rd of November, a magical garden full of real miracles will come to life on the Palace Square.
Guests and residents of the city will see giant light flowers, trees and fantastic plants in the very heart of St. Petersburg. At the festival, 3D-mapping shows and light installations will be combined into a single digital space. A specially designed application with augmented reality (AR) technology will help not to get lost in the impromptu garden. The application will become a real guide for garden researchers and will help to reveal secrets on the other side of reality.
